Sofa and Furniture Care Guide

At CopperLadle, we want you to enjoy your furniture for as long as possible. Regular maintenance and appropriate cleaning can help preserve its appearance and comfort.

Because materials and finishes vary, always follow the care instructions supplied with your specific product.

General Sofa Care

  • Vacuum upholstery regularly using a suitable upholstery attachment to remove dust and loose debris.
  • Blot spills promptly with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this may spread stains or push liquid deeper into the material.
  • Keep furniture away from prolonged direct sunlight and excessive heat to help reduce fading and material deterioration.
  • Rotate or rearrange removable cushions periodically when permitted by the product instructions.
  • Avoid standing or jumping on sofas and do not exceed the recommended weight capacity.
  • Keep sharp objects away from upholstery and surfaces to reduce the risk of scratches or tears.

Fabric Upholstery

For fabric sofas, use cleaning methods appropriate for the specific fabric. Test any cleaning product on a small, inconspicuous area before applying it more widely.

Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals, abrasive brushes, and excessive moisture unless the product instructions specifically permit their use.

For difficult stains, consider consulting a professional upholstery cleaning service familiar with your fabric type.

Leather and Faux-Leather Surfaces

Dust leather or faux-leather surfaces gently with a soft, clean cloth.

Use only cleaning products recommended for the specific material. Avoid harsh solvents, abrasive sponges, and excessive moisture. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat may cause fading, drying, or cracking.

Sofa Frames and Legs

When moving furniture, lift it carefully rather than dragging it across the floor. Use suitable floor protectors to reduce scratches and help keep the furniture stable.

Periodically check visible fasteners and tighten them only as directed by the product instructions. Do not modify structural components or substitute hardware without appropriate guidance.

Cushion and Assembly Care

Follow the supplied assembly instructions and use the recommended hardware. Make sure all required components are installed properly before using the furniture.

If cushions or covers are removable, check the care labels before washing or treating them. Some covers may require professional cleaning and may not be suitable for machine washing.

Long-Term Maintenance

Regular gentle cleaning is generally preferable to aggressive stain removal. Clean spills promptly, avoid overloading furniture, and follow all product-specific care instructions.

If you are uncertain about a cleaning method or the correct treatment for a particular material, contact our customer service team before proceeding.
